Something Peepin'

Discover something peepin out of the ground under two large round bushes when I was out in front. Something red and tiny was growing under there. My hubby actually saw them first and then I saw them. I never saw baby strawberries before. Unusual that they ended up growing under the bush but the winds must have carried the seeds there. As I was walking to the backyard near the side of the house there was 4 more little strawberries growing. It makes more sense to me that they were there because who ever lived here before must have planted some and then they took some with them when they left. I had a small pot but no potting soil so I went to the store to buy me a bag. I love strawberries, never grew them before but wanted to, just never got around to it. Last summer around our house the big thing was watermelon, I suppose we will be having strawberries this summer, too. I hope they grow and spread out so we have more, but not so fast. I need to find a special garden space for them.

We have wild ones growing at the edge of our property and when you run them over with the mower they smell so good!
