If so, how often do you have it done?  What all do they do to it?  Is it expensive?

For the most part no; my dh is good at that sort of thing and knows how to do the general care and maintenance of it.

We just a new one last year when the other just died. Up till then My SO always did it. We only have a crawls space so obviously it wasn't easy even getting to it. I was pleasently surprised 2mths. ago when I got a call from the company to set up an appointment for the service man to come out and give ours a "tune up" and safety check free of charge. It certainly made my day!
