Importing Digital Pics to Computer Problem - HELP!

I really need advice asap!

1. For some reason on our laptops if we plug our digital cameras in to import pics, NOTHING pops up so we can click to import them, nothing happens. We don't have a pic program on them I guess and I dont know what I should have (cheap or free just to be able to import and save and email pics is all I need).

2. On the kids desktop it DID work if we put the memory card in at FIRST but now it says the trial is up that apparently just came with the computer BUT to order it, its $69 and its based in the U.K. and I would rather not use my card for out of country transactions. (also I really only need basic free or cheap if anyone knows of any?)

I would prefer it be something I can download free or reasonably priced online from this country.

It is very important that when I plug in the memory card or cord that it will automatically pop up so I can click to import.

I answered in the other group where you posted it but will answer here. With my camera a pop up came on the screen and it had me download something for free or add something... now when I plug in my cord it lets me add he pics etc.

IDK but good luck!

My camera is a Kodak Easyshare z series and it came with a disk too but it was for kodak easyshares site and after about a month of using it then they said to keep importing and saving my pictures I would have to start to pay a MONTHLY FEE!!! I was pissed.

I wouldnt mind paying a one time fee but sheesh.

sad Sighhhh I think I am going to have to take my laptop to best buys geek squad this weekend and have them put something in my computer that will automtically pop up to import as soon as I plug in my cord or memory card.  If I have to pay for it it will be worth it as long as its not a montly charge like stupid kodak gallery tried to do to me.

You shouldn't need any kind of software on your computer.

When you plug in your camera or insert your memory card, you computer should recognize the device as a separate drive. When you go to your start menu and then computer, you should see it there. For instance, when I plug my camera in it pops up under  portable devices and says digital camera. All I have to do is open the folder and find the photos and them copy them all and drag them to my photo section on my computer.

It may not show up with a title like mine does, but it should show up under "computer" on your start menu as a drive that isn't normally there.

with my computer I have to click on my computer and then click the drive (like e, f and will have camera lable) and then copy or move the pictures into a folder on my computer. Hope this helps.

  • If you have a pc, click my computer.  It should say something like portable hard drive in there when you plug your camera in.

That is the exact step by step by simple instructions "I SERIOUSLY NEED " computers go over my head easily.. and IT WORKED YAYYYYYYYYYYY
