Bio-Identical Hormones and Synthetic Hormones

Suzanne Somers talks to her gynecologist Dr. Prudence Hall, and Dr. Abe Morgentaler [author of 'Testosterone for Life'] about synthetic hormones, bio-identical hormones, and how these hormones affect our bodies in different ways. Bio-identical hormones can be incredibly helpful in treating, and potentially eliminating, the many side effects of menopause. Find out more in this episode:

I'm not quite at the age where I need hormones yet, but I would definitely consider bio-identicals over synthetic.

I do too.  She always has something interesting to say and I like that she's not touting anything she hasn't tried herself.

I would too.  It just seems to me that natural is the way to go.

Yeah, it's like getting advice from a friend, rather than a star. :)

I had slight hot flashes a few months back and I know it's getting close to the time I need to start thinking about this. Thanks for sharing all this info.

Can I just say first hand this is awesome and a great way to get your sh*t back to normal!!!!????!!!!! My mom was CRAZY from menopause, My ob/gyn started doing this and I talked to her about my mom who is also her patient. She only works with Biodentical hormone treatments and replacement therapies. After my mom got her testing done she started therapy and was like a whole new person. BUT because with the natural aging process your body produces less and less of the hormones you would be taking the biodentical hormones for the rest of your life and it is not covered by many insurance companies because its so new. While it is life changing, it is alot of money, and because of that, I don't think the people that know about it look at it as an option and the rest of the community doesn't even know its an option at all because no one talks about it.

As to male replacement hormone therapy, my step dad is supposed to go, he got his testing done, but hates doctors and doesn't want to go back for the consultation to find out his options, but I am a firm believer that he would definitely be much better off if he would go and get whatever he needed to.
