Overtired kids

What do you do when your kids get over tired? Mine get slap happy and fresh. I can't make them sleep so I went for a walk. Its usually a sure fire way to get them to nap. Both fell
Asleep but zach woke up the moment the stroller stopped. I'm fried. This kid is just driving me nutty today. I think he will be going to bed at 7 tonite

The baby just crashes lol. Sometimes i will just lay her down for a nap when she gets too tired.

When Mikey is really tried he will go into his room and climb into his bed and take a nap or will sit on the couch and fall alseep.

Shannon quit napping after her first birthday but if I ever wanted her to calm down a bit I would get out the videos of Bob Ross (Painter) from the PBS station.  She loved to watch him paint and his voice is so calm and soothing.

If possible we go for a car ride, that usually calms them down and if not I drive to Starbucks drive thru and get me some caffeine!

 T was like that...but when she finally went to sleep, she was O-U-T! Of course,by then the day had me like this...

Car rides never calmed Shannon down.  I could drive from our house to Lake Tahoe and back and then San Francisco and back and she'd still be wide awake.  She fell asleep one time in the car when she was little and that was because she was very sick.  We were on the way to the ER because she had a fever of 104...that was the first and last time LOL  However I have to fight to keep awake in the car and that's because I am driving!  Ex used to get piassed because I'd fall asleep in the passenger seat on our trips to his parents.

My DS gets more hyper but It's like his brain shuts off (common sense). LOL. It's just getting him to actually lay down, then he's out. That kid will sleep threw anything.

DD she gets crabby and has meltdowns. I usually just have to lay her down and she's out. She on the other hand will wake up if a pin drops.
