Yes...to me it does seem odd. Did he not engage in the social community at all, or do people only care about themselves that much?
Quoting VintageWife:
Isn't it odd that noone seemed to think he was "off"?

Police won't release any of his admissions.

dunno...
I personally think that w/his high intelligence nothing was challenging enough for him....and "his wires" got crossed and snapped...
who knows???
Quoting VintageWife:
I wonder if the moment he snapped was after he got a high degree in Neuroscience and then realized he couldn't do anything with it.

No...but your more social than you think, you engage here very well with others...
this guy was really "quiet" as I am learning...
Quoting CoeyG:
Why would being quiet indicate that he was "off"? Many many years ago I was the "quiet" type, I kept to myself quite a bit in fact I still do for the most part, always have favored animals over humans. That doesn't mean I'm getting an arsenol and headed to the local theatre.

That may have something to do with it.
There is a case in Seattle waiting to go to trial where a new doctor killed his partner and 2 yo and tried to kill himself. They aren't seeking the death penalty and he was jsut found fit for trial. I imagine that "temporary insanity" will be the defnse. He just finished med school and got his first job as a "real" doctor, moved to a new town, had a 2 yo. Any one of those events on it's own is stressful. Stack them altogether, consider that the relationship could have been rocky due to the stressors, factor in the ego of most doctrors and he SNAP.

In news stories, I've read that his mother knew right away that it was him, and had no doubt he would do this. So she obviously, knowing her child......knew things were not 'right'. But like most people......they won't take action with family members mental issues due to embarrassment, guilt, exposure, etc.
