Cry when your kids went to Kindergarten?
My twins have been in preschool. Zach was in Early Intervention, so when he turned 3 he started going to the Sp Ed class in our school district. Charlie started a few months later at another preschool. So they have been in school for 3 yrs already (Oct bdays) Last yr they missed the cut off for K so they were in the same PreK class - 5 days a week for 2.5 hrs a day. I don't see myself crying when they go to K next week. I'm excited for them to go for many reasons! I love to see them learn new things, make new friends, and get back on a "schedule". In the summer we are pretty lax and just do whatever. I have to admit I will enjoy the 3 hrs a day to myself as well!! ;) (yes half day K still in NJ!)
so did you cry?
I cried the first day of PreK for them both!
Quoting snuggiewoogie:Yeah when I dropped her off at the pre-school program I was pretty upset. I was worried the whole 1st day she was there. Yeah I was crying....
Luckily the Sp Ed teacher from PreK will be in the PM Kindergarten class with them. I think thats why I'm not too upset or anything....I feel good knowing she'll be there to ease any of Zach's anxiety.
Quoting LivinDeadGurl:I did when my daughter went. She was my first born and I was pregnant, so I was emotional....lol.
My second I didn't, but that was because he had been in preschool since he was 3 and was staying with the same teacher for kindergarten (he is special needs).
I am sure I will when my next one starts next year.
Quoting betsystipo:I would be partying if the boys were gone full day! I dream of that next year...but I think I'll have to get a job :(
Quoting mhmomma:
I cried on Ks first day and last day of kindergarten. I did not for H. This will be our first year of kids there all day. I am a bit sad. Won't last long lol

It is always a sad feeling the 1st day of school... I get emotional! What can I say they are only going be this little one time :(
the only type of job I'll try to get is in the local school systems- same hours as boys and same vacations....maybe it will take me a year or two to find one! LOL :)
Quoting mhmomma:
Oh I will be dancing this year. Hehe I will miss them but I'll survive. I do want to get more involved with the schools. No job for me any time soon.

No bc my kids were homeschooled until almost middle school, THEN when they went to public school then, I told them I was excited for them and what an exciting new adventure for them and then when they were all asleep at night and I was alone in my bed I cried and cried bc I was so worried about them. But they never knew that.

Quoting betsystipo:I cried like a baby in June for their last day. 3 yrs in the same preschool w/ the same teachers who loved my baby Zach and helped him grow so much. It was very sad for me.
Quoting LoriAnn87:I cried when Mikey had his first day of preschool and I know I'm going to cry this time because it's his last year of preschool and he will be going into kindergarten next Sept. I can't believe how much my little man has grown and how much improvement he has made with his speech. We will found out next year if he will stay at the school he is going to now for kindergareten or be transfer to the school for our area. Where ever he goes for kindergarten it will be half day I would love to send him full day but don't have the money to send him. Only 2 school in my area have full day kindergarten and it cost alot.
Mikey has been in preschool for almost 2 years and it's sad it's coming to a end but i'm looking forward to what is ahead. This will also be the last year the bus will be picking him up in front our house and dropping him off because whever he goes to kindergarten they have asigned corcner of where he will be picked up.
