Do YOU get a flu shot? Do you get one for your kids?

I am torn, I get my kids one EVERY year, I do not, only once when my 1st born was a baby did I. Not sure why I know everyone, it's a personal preference. I was just curious as I am reading that it may be peak season and am on the fence whether or not to go get one.

People in my family tend to get sick from the shot so we don't get it.

Todd and I hadnt gotten it in a couple of years Or at least I didnt, he might have at work. But we when we moved 10 mos ago we had to get a new dr and we found one that is a specialist and labeled as one of the best drs in the world so when she told us she believes very strongly in flu shots and really wanted us to both get one we did. So far so good.

Another reason we agreed it was an extra good idea to take this precaution for me is bc it seems like anytime I do end up getting sick it's always 10 x's worse than everyone else and not uncommon for me to end up in ER on ivs or such. Dont know why

I don't usually get it, mostly because I only get sick about once a year, and I just never thought about it.  I was planning to get one a couple months ago, though, because of the indications of how bad this flu season is supposed to be.  Currently, my state (CA) is one of 3 that does not have 'epidemic' levels of flu, but it could certainly get worse here.  I went to Walgreens in October to get the shot there, but they told me that my insurance would only cover it if I got it at my doctor's office.  It would take me a couple months to get an appt. at my doctor's office, and I didn't have the money at the time to pay cash for the shot.  So, I just never got it.

Yes, in fact my boys have an appt. at the dr office in the morning to get theirs, and sometime this week Im getting mine. We dont usually wait til this late, I just kinda procrastinated this year. Hubby never gets one, he one of those people that swears the flu shot GIVES you the flu. Me and our boys though have never had any side effects though except feeling like we got slugged in the arm where the shot was given.

Get it before they run out. You don't want to be sick, you're the mom!

I got a flu shot two years in a row...both years I ended up extremely sick.  I will never get a flu shot again and I won't make my son get one either.
