We are thinking about putting in for Korea but are looking into everything first. One question I have is if he gets sent without us how does BAH work?, I know he will have to live in the dorms so does the BAH go to that?.

My husband is at Osan right now. We get BAH for me where I live (which is standard). If he takes a followon assignment they may make you move there right away (we didn't have to since we're going OCONUS to Alaska). You CAN go non-command sponsored. You have to pay to get there but you will get OHA and utility allowance to live off base. You won't get COLA though. Your husband will have to request permission to live off base with you but as long as he's responsible its pretty easy. You are able to get commi and BX benefits also, they will actually increase his monthly rations to accomodate your family size. When I visited DH I met quite a few families enjoying Korea non-command sponsored. If you have other questions I can try to answer them. You can also get space-a medical and schools for kids. I was too chicken to go NCS but after meeting so many people who were doing it we'd definitely look into it in the future.

Thank you!, the only reason we are looking into it would be for the follow on. I would rather go with him but I don't think he would want us to go unless we could live on base. If we keep looking into this I will definitely have more questions : )
