Toddler tantrums – head banging?

Has anyone seen their baby do this? My son is 14 months old and when he decides to have a fit he lays down on the ground and tries to bang his head on the ground to make him cry. I know he is teething, but I don't think it is connected to the head banging. When he does this it is really strange to me to watch. He actually judges how far he needs to put his head down to hit the floor. Sometimes he raises it and lowers it (his head) three times before he connects with the floor. When we see him start to do this we tell him no and he does stop, but why he does it I don't know. Any ideas or suggestions?

I don't know. Sorry! I have never seen this kind of behavior. I would ask your pediatrician about it. I am sure you are already doing this, but make him as comfortable as possible while he is teething, and maybe it will stop. Good luck!
