Just found out that we will be having ds as a c-section on Tuesday. My little man decided to flip back bottom first this past week. He has been head down for a month! His bottom is sitting on my cervix. Because of his positioning and my history of abdominal surgery, the dr thinks manual manipulation could be dangerous and unsuccessful. We are doing one last ultrasound Tuesday morning. If he flips, we are inducing before he gets any other ideas! If not, we will have a c-section. My surgery will be difficult, so the dr is calling in another dr for help. Because of my past abdominal surgeries, the incision has to be up higher than normal, possibly through some muscles. I am scared, not just of the surgery, but of the recovery time.
For anyone who does not know my story, we adopted dd at birth last October. We found out we were pregnant the Wednesday after Easter this year. Apparently at the time of dd's birth, we were about 2 weeks along after trying for 9 years. We have been on multiple medications, had many surgeries, and endured a ton of heart ache & disappointment to have our family. I am mainly worried about having to pick up and care for a VERY active 9 mo old and newborn while healing from surgery. Anyone who has had abdominal surgery will tell you those muscles take FOREVER to heal up after being messed with! My husband will be off through the 8th with us, then my mom is coming down for a week.
On top of all this, our insurance changes from Cigna to UHC on July 1, so I don't know what I can do for my follow-up visits. I'll have to contact Cigna on Monday to find out. Thank you ladies for letting me vent! It has been a strange, wild journey, but in the end, I have my dd & ds,so its worth it!
