I had started dialating sunday night at 1cm n i was like that all night and i did not reach 2cm till noon on monday. Has that ever happened before? I ended up having a cesarian because at 8:00 monday night i made no progress. It sounds rare to me.

I have seen many women labor for much longer with out a csection.

Where you induced?

Well, I have heard of slow dilation before. In fact, it took me 2 weeks to get from 2cm to 3cm. And even once my active labor started, I was still dilating slowly. But I was put on pitocin which helped speed things up and I was able to deliver vaginally.

It took me over 30 hours to get from 1 cm to 3 cm, then all the sudden I went from 3 to 10cm in just a couple of hours.  It's pretty normal for the first few cm's to go slowly especially with a first pregnancy.
