I would wait. The er is full of germs & terrible illnesses. As long as your not seeing any green or yellow discharge you should be fine. It's probly blood. Just keep putting rubbing alcohol around it with a q-tip. You could always call your Dr & ask before going to the e.r. I avoid the e.r. unless it's really really bad because I'm afraid my baby will pick up somthing worse there like RSV or the flu. Good luck momma :)

Remember that it was a living part of his body that is now dying. You're going to see a degree of decay. It looks about like what my DD's looked like when it finally fell out, and she was around the same age - somewhere between 1 and 2 weeks old.

As the others have said, keep it clean and dry - and use rubbing alcohol on a q-tip if needed.

Good luck!

I agree with the other ladies :) Just keep it dry and clean.

If you're still concerned about it on Monday, call and talk to a nurse.

Looks pretty normal to me.  As long as the discharge is brown not green and doesn't smell bad it's fine.

Looks and sounds fine to me.  Did your Dr tell you to do anything to it?
