How will I know when it's time to start? What should I start with? Any advice?

Babies are ready for finger foods once they can sit up unassisted, have lost the tongue thrust reflex, can chew with their gums/teeth, and have mastered the pincher grasp. I started with soft pieces of fruit and veggies.

I agree and it's usually around six months or so? I just gave my daughter bits and pieces of whatever I made for the family.

About 5 or 6 months and start with one type of food like veggies do carrots for a few days then add a second kind of food for a few days. It helps to see if they have an allergic reaction to the food. No honey until they are a year old. I usually don't introduce fruits till later my dd wanted the fruits and not the veggies. With ds I am cheating he's 4 months but I have started giving him a taste of food
