Just two days to go until Thanksgiving!

One of the most challenging aspects of meal preparation is the one we do at the very last minute... carving the turkey! Make sure you're ready for action by sharpening your carving knives today (or better yet, take them somewhere to have them sharpened!).

You'll want to make sure you have these other carving essentials at the ready, too: cutting board, serving platter to put the slices on as you carve, kitchen scissors, and a carving fork.

If you're a turkey-carving novice, read this mom's turkey-carving tips!

Are your carving knives ready for action? Tell us in the replies below!

My father had an electric carving knife and used it for major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I still connect the sound of an electric knives with big holidays.  We use regular knives to cut our bird, but it would be great to have an electric carver just to relive that sound....

My Dad always carves the turkey on Thanksgiving...and at home that is DH's job...I cook it ...the hubby can carve it... (I would ruin it...)
