Edit: I made it with green tea (it's what I had handy) and its delicious!
one cup of sugar, four bags of lipton or tetley iced tea bags and a gallon of water let sit for about 30 minutes. we never go without it in the house. haha
Boil 1/2 gallon or so of water turn off heat add tea bags and let steep. I usually let mine sit for a few hours but I like it strong. In 1 gallon container place sugar pour tea over stir to combine adding cold water to make 1 gallon.
Sun tea (summer tea as DD calls it) get a 1 gallon glass container fill with water (I only fill mine 3/4 full) add tea bags. Cover. Place in a very sunny location til desired strength. I then make a simple syrup (sugar and water) and add to the tea.
Quoting Stacie03:
I like mine super strong. I use 12 tea bags per 1 gallon of water, and just shy of a cup of sugar.

Quoting 4kidz916:I'm from the south and sweet tea is a staple in everyone's fridge. lol Make it like the other ladies have suggested and adjust the sugar to your taste. My family loves sweet tea but I prefer mine unsweet (I don't like sweet stuff) with lemon.
Quoting MrsWhite101610:
Do you let the tea bags sit in the pot of water and just leave it on the stove?
