My family does not. DH's has a couple every year. We go to one of them, and I'd gladly not go to that one.

Both of our families have one every time we go home. Since we are the only family members on both sides that live away from home, its a big occasion when we come to town. We love going to both of them. So its usually about every other year that we make it home to see everyone. Both of our families are tightnit and love to spend time together.

we used too ! now all my older relatives are deceased I don't not see it happening with distant relatives but sister , I , Mom, Aunts and Cousin do it yearly
