Do you grate your own cheese? Or buy it pre-grated?

Well?  Do you grate cheese yourself?  Or you do buy it already grated?  (Costco grated cheese is so affordable!)

I find it to be similarly priced and sometimes sales make one or the other cheaper, but we also buy block because of the additives.

i always grate it myself. there isn't usually much cost difference but it doesn't have the added ingredients that the shredded cheese has in it.

I buy 5 pound blocks twice a month thru my co-op.  It's non gmo and only slightly more than gmo versions.  I put most of the first one thru the food processor to shred it and cut the rest into cubes for snacks.  When we run out we do the same to the 2nd block.

 I grate it myself.  Pre-grated has an anti-caking compound and it prevents it from melting as smoothly. Pregrated is usually a lesser quality cheese and only seems to be cheaper, but really isn't..

We tend to go through more, if I grate it myself, so I usually buy it already grated.  But I like to grate my own cheese, when we have tacos.
