You bet it does!
We follow a nutrient dense eating plan. I plan all three meals, and I can see at a glance where I may need to add something with, say, protein or vitamin C. Also, since I plan all sides too, I know I'll have the ingredients for our salads or steamed veggies or whatever I'm having and I won't have to settle for something with little to no nutrition. There's no temptation to go out to eat because I didn't have anything out for dinner, there's no last minute fast food emergency meals, and there's no stressing over what to have for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's all there.
While I only plan dinners, I do find it very helpful in eating better. It greatly reduces the number of fast food temptations. It is particularly good duing sports seasons when we are on the go so much. I plan our meals based on our work/activities schedules and I also do a lot of crockpot cooking. Makes it nice to come home from work and dinner is ready or only a quick addition needs to be made to complete the meal. I make sure to plan for at least one additonal quick fix meal in case plans change at the last minute or if we just don't feel like eating what I originally had planned.
Yes. Since, I plan out my lunches for the week, I'm not tempted to get fast food for lunch. Dinner planning has also cut down on our fast food consumption for dinner, too.
At some point in your life, you're going to check-out at the grocery store and face a huge bill. If you have a meal plan in mind, you know what items to keep and what items to put back.
It helps me and my family to eat better. I can make use of recipes I find that I want to try and by having a plan I always have good food on hand.
Absolutely. Planning keeps you on budget and helps keep the impulse items out of the cart.
Yes it sure does we know what we are having and when , what to buy or not buy
