Hey! I'm Jen and the mommy of a 10 year old rottie lady named Mocha. Best dog ever!!! I HATE the rap that these dogs have because of ignorant people and I fight for them and stick up for the breed constantly. My dog is perfect and I can't count the people who've asked me to breed her so they could have a puppy or straight up as me for her! She's wonderful with my children. She loves to play with them. She's been my big baby since I brought her home when she was 12 weeks old. Unfortunately they found cancer in one of her doggy boobies back in Feb of '10, she had surgery to remove it as well as a hysterectomy and mastectomy. Now the cancer is back and the vet wants to perform another surgery and if the cancer returns again they suggest that I put her down. So heartbreaking. Like saying oh hey, your kid needs to be put to sleep. I don't want her to suffer of course, but the thought of not having her anymore kills me. Sorry to be such a debbie downer but any how, back to rotties, they're the only breed of dog I will ever own. Beautiful, smart and loyal. So glad to have found this group =)

Hi Jen! So sorry to hear about Mocha's cancer! You are absolutely right...rotties are beautiful, smart and loyal! I can't imagine what you are going through.
I am also upset that people think rotties are mean dogs. Any dog can be mean if it is not raised correctly. Rotties are so smart and love their families so much!
I am so glad you are a part of this group! Welcome!!!
Joan :)

Hello fellow rottie mamas! My name is Michelle,I'm a mother of two beautiful smart children Jasmine (6) and Micah (4) we have our adopted son Bo who is purebreed German Rottie. He just turned a year this month. We LOVE our rottie and plan on finding him a companion. He is such a huge puppy, and loves to play fetch. He is the most loyal and loving dog. Our children love him and see him more then a dog or pet, he's part of our family.

Hello, I am Saprena and I really miss my girls!! They were our pride and joy. The kids and my present husband loved them and adored them. They were just the sweetest dogs ever. I want them back everyday. He has had them now for about a year. I can't stand not having them!! When my ex and I separated about 5 years ago I had the girls to myself for about 2 years before our divorce came to head. In court while my ex was shackled he demanded to have custody of our girls. I agreed because I was about to meet a guy that I had been talking to for about 2 weeks who a year later became my present husband.  I wish that I would have kept the girls, but knowing that they could die from getting so sick. I knew that my ex was a jerk and would never give them fully to me.

Now we no longer have our Rotties!! But we have so many memories and pics. We got them when they were only 8 weeks old, and now they are 7 years old.

Hello , My name is Linda and I have 4 children, ages 17, 16, 9 and 4. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats. 3 of the dogs are Rotties. Buddy is 4 years old .Samantha is 2. and their son Rocky is 8 months, but he is already bigger than buddy and Samantha. Our other dog is a rodent LOL just kidding he is a yorkie chihuahua mix (Gizmo). He is very cautious around the rotties. He just grunts and whimpers around them. They really want to play with him but he is too scared of them, he plays with the cats. The cats are constantly grooming him. It's so funny. One of our cats (Casper)is completely white and deaf. The other  cat is a fluffy tuxedo cat. He wants nothing to do with the dogs. Heck he don't even want to play with the other cat. He almost died from eating the tainted catfood from Iams a few years back, he hasn't been the same since. It is great to join this group. I was a member of another rottweiler  group but it wasn't very active. Oh yeah Samantha had a litter of 9 puppies and 1 didn't make it. Samantha ended up with mastitis in her breast , That is an infection in her breast. We took her to the vet and 3 days later the breast burst open, it was the worst thing that I have ever seen. We had to bottle feed the puppies. The replacement milk is very expensive, especially to feed 8 rotties around the clock every 2-3 hours. We eventually putting 2-3 puppies on the other breasts at a time to let them nurse and keep them away from the bad breast. after she had the puppies we got her spayed. I never want her to go through that again, you can't even tell that it happened now. It is not easy to breed a little and it is very expensive especially when things go wrong. We sold 7 of the puppies to great people at 650 each but we still didn't even break even. We just wanted one of buddy's puppies. Never again. It is nice meeting all of you.

Hello and welcome! I can't believe everything Samantha went through!! Poor thing! I totally understand that you don't want to do that again! I think it is so cute that you have three big dogs and a little one. I have a rottie and a Cavalier...so I am in the same boat...just not as many rotties! Haha! I am so glad you have joined us!
