Last night my computer contracted a virus so now I can only get on cafemom through my phone. If my bil can't fix my computer then I'm gonna have to go pay someone to fix it. Rrrr! There goes some of my trip money. I'll still respond to your posts though ladies I'm just going to slower and have cramped hands more =)

I refuse to run Windows because of the mass amounts of viruses & the need for anti-virus software. This is the operating system that I use & it is easy to convert to (if you wanted to).

You can also download it & burn to a disk to test before installing it. 100% FREE :)

I might just try that out. Anything is worth a shot right now.

I agree. The day I got my new laptop, I knew I was going to put Ubuntu on it, but DH wanted to make a restore disk as was suggested by Dell. Halfway through the burn the computer froze. Brand new, nothing added or taken away & it still crashed. Needless to say Windows was wiped off without a restore disk & Ubuntu was fully installed. No problems since :)

I have not had a single virus in the 5 years I have ran Linux/Ubuntu.

Last time my computer got a virus I ended up getting a new one. The computer was old enough we decided it wasn't worth putting the money into it to fix it.
