Tabassco (hot sauce) and cold showers as a form of discipline?

I was watching dr phil today and a lady was using these as discipline! What's your thoughts and opinions on using these as discipline?

NO! A cold shower could make the kid sick, and tabasco would leave the kid's mouth burning for hours. That's not dicipline, that's make the child fear. Not good.

no; however, we did try to use vinegar once to get ds to stop biting his nails (down to where they would bleed) but it didn't work; he'd come home and ask for it LOL
