Alexsi1's Love Diary

I met my DH at a nightclub. I had just got out of a bad relationship and was drinking my sorrows away and in all honestly just looking for a one night stand. But I was charmed by him. He was very nice and I knew right away there was something about him. We got to talking then after the club went out to Steak n Shake LOL. We started officially dating a week later. We knew within two months we were in love. We got married 8 months later. I was 21, he was 26.

I'm not going to lie, it was not easy being a wife at 21. I had partied throughout ages 18-20 and while I was ready to settle down it wasn't completely out of my system yet, and it lead to some conflicts. But we worked through them. We think alike and work easily through conflicts and obstacles. I have matured a great deal with DH. I'm definently not who I used to be.

But we have had our share of rough times. In 2006 I went in for a routine OB appointment. I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism within the week. It was ten times harder for us TTC because I hardly ever ovulated on my own. I had a miscarriage in 2007, a total surprise pregnancy, which devastated me. In 2008 we went through Clomid treatments and they didn't help at all. I can't tell you how many times I came close to ending my marriage. I hated myself for not being able to do what comes so easily to others. I resented the people around me who got pregnant so easily. I got mad at the nagging questions, the not-so-helpful advice. Unless you have been through it, nobody knows the toll infertility take on a marriage. I came to accept my problem. But when I got to the acceptance phase, DH was at the resentment part. And it was harder on him than it was on me. He had just turned 30 and it really weighed on him. It got even worse in 2010 when I went back to the fertility specialist and they wanted to try IVF drugs with intrauterine insemination (IUI). It was a financial gamble, one we fought about constantly. But in the end we made the cutbacks, used our savings and a credit card and just did it. And we got pregnant on the first try.

Our DS is now 2 months old. And we couldn't be happier. We only had one rough patch a week ago where I think DH may have had daddy PPD. But he's through it now. I can't believe how full circle our lives have come.

Thats an awesome story!! I wouldnt worry too much about your past! We all make mistake or do things that we thought "why did I do that"? That is a part of life! I met my DH in a nightclub too. I was not looking for anything not even a one stand. Nothilater!ng happened we exchange numbers&went out a week later! It all worked out in the end!

BTW you said Steak&Shake where are you at? Me&DH never heard of it till a few weeks ago in Vegas! It reminded us of Johnny Rocket.
