Scariest phone call I have ever received.

With our tax money, my husband wanted to go snowboarding. We talked about it, he tried to find someone to go with him, but everyone was working. So he went up by himself. I got a text from him at 8 am that said, "I made it. Getting off the lift for my first run." I texted him around 9 saying, "How is the mountain?" He replied, "The mountain is beautiful. No wind, no rain, no snow, only sunshine!" with a gorgeous picture attached. Then, at 10:38, I got a phone call. I was driving, so I answered my phone and was trying to rush the conversation. He asked me how my day was going, how the weather was, what my plans for the day were. I answered all his questions, then he completely broke down.

I yanked the car off the road, put on my flashers and said, "Babe whats wrong?" and I got the scariest answer. "Jonna, I need to know if you can tell me where I am." I stammered out, "Arent u snowboarding?" and he said "I have no idea, I dont know where I am or how I got here. Where are you? When are you coming to get me?" I asked him if he was hurt, he said he didnt know. I asked him what happened, he couldnt remember falling or anything. His head wasnt bleeding, he wasnt hurting anywhere. I asked him to look around and see if there was anyone on the run he was on, and stayed on the phone with him until a ski patrol went by. I told him to flag him down and tell him what happened, but he was in hysterics and couldnt hardly talk. I told him to hand the phone off to the patrol and he did. I told the patrol his name, that I was his wife, that I was 4 hours away, my husband is there alone, he's not an experienced boarder, and all what I knew. That it sounds like he had fallen and hit his head. Told him to keep him there and don't let him leave, no matter what he says. Even if he says he is completely fine, he had a head injury so do NOT let him leave. He said okay, asked my permission to use the phone to call me back (he couldnt ask my husband as he wasnt in a state to be asnwering questions like that), and we hung up.

Then I broke down. I freaked out. I called my mom and asked her what to do, and she said she'd be at my house in 20 minutes and we would go on the 4 hour drive to go get him and his car. So we called my cousin, who works at the resort, to check in on him but it was his day off. So we called his mom, my aunt, to go with her boyfriend to go get him (they were only an hour away) so they went to him. Her boyfriend is a paramedic and said he probably just has a mild concussion, so watch him.

My husband is doing good, now. That was 12 hours ago. He came home and went to bed, 8 hours after the accident. I have woken him up 5 times in the last 4 hours to check on him. He still doesn't remember what happened. That was easily BY FAR the scariest phone call I have ever received.

My name is Jonna. I am 19 years old, and a mother of two boys. They were born 10-31-07 and 8-26-11. I was 15 years old when I had my first. I breastfeed, I co-sleep, I circumcise. I married the love of my life and sons' father on 10-9-10, and just celebrated our one year anniversary. We own our own home, we own two cars, and we are temporarily on PA. I love being a mommy, I love being a wife.
This is me.

OMG that is so scary!   Did he see a doctor at all?  Not to freak you out but what if he didn't fall and hit his head, kwim?  I hope he feels better and remembers something in the morning.

Yeah, the one actress died that night when something similar happened...right?

Not trying to scare you but he should go to the hospital.

I only vaguely remember now that you mention it.....really don't know the whole story.   I'm just a very paranoid person...always work with worst case scenario first just to be sure.

I would definitely take him to the er! Losing his memory is NOT a good thing. He needs to be seen! Do it now! I'm surprised the ski patrol didn't call for an ambulance. Any kind of head trama where memory is affected needs to be checked out by a Dr and he definitely needs an MRI or CT scan to make sure he doesn't have bleeding on the brain. Memory loss is a big clue to severe head trama! Please take him. It's better for you to take him and they say its nothing that he's fine, then it would be for you to do nothing and he dies. Please please take him. My husband is a deputy coroner and some of his cases could have been prevented if the person would have just went to the Dr.
