I watched this show where this man and woman were married for 60 yrs .  And the older man said that his one piece of marriage advice for a long term happy marriage..Would be to forgive often and to let go of past.  Start everyday fresh with an open heart and the rest comes after that.  Thats the best advice I think I have heard.   YOU????

I think this is my 2nd fav= remember to talk about the small stuff and everyday life.  Dont just talk about the kids and troubles.. I know this advice has helped my marriage alot.

Never do anything behind the others back that you would not do in front of their face.

I'm pretty sure he can go to bed happy, because he forgets and his brain resets overnight. Sometimes, its not going to get sorted out before going to bed. So we'll have to work it out the next day.

"You can make it." ....shows how much good advice I've gotten....how about a thread about the worse advice we've received. I really don't know too many married folk anyway.

Go to marriage counciling. I tried being stubborn and insisting that I didn't need counciling and my marriage fell apart. Last minute I decided I would go and it made all the difference. I have the most wonderful husband in he world but I would never have realized it if we hadn't learned how to communicate with one another. I think even a good marriage can benefit.
