Does anyone else have a workaholic husband who has trouble going from work mode to husband mode???? My husband is a manager and I swear on his days off, he keeps on managing......ME!!!!! I am a SAHM now...after being a pretty good manager myself as a teacher for 8 years in an urban school). Our daughter who is 21 mo. and things are peaceful when he has a set schedule and basically is only home 2 hrs. a day before bed....but when he is off, I want to kill the man! He just has major trouble NOT treating me like a damn employee. It is like he nit-picks at every little thing from my driving to why I forgot something he likes at the store (I mean, it is my "job", why can't I handle it?) It is stressful to be around him if we are not actively involved in something like the b-day party we attended today...I had an hour or so of peace. Unless we are going on vacation somewhere, I dread his days off or vacation time. I don't know how to get him to stop this behavior!!!!! It is not cool for our daughter to witness. Over it!!!!!
My DH too. He has been working so much. I feel bad, he comes home so tired. Is your husband always tired working these long hours? And what does he do for a living?
Quoting Italiana26:My husband is a workaholic, working 12 hour days 5 days a week and 5 or 6 hour days on saturdays. But he has no problems going from work mode to husband mode!
I go though the same thing. My husband is a teacher and drivers ed teacher and a coach of several high school sports. When he gets home he drives me crazy how he talks down to me like I am a high schooler!!! I right out told him that I wasn't one on his students and if he kept talking to me that way I could show him high schooler!!! lol
Have you talked to him about this? Try keeping the conversation civil and make yourself the problem - not him. Guys tend to get defensive if they feel accused of something, so don't let him feel that way. Just let him know how you feel and ask him for help as you try to work out a solution. The manager side of him will feel fulfilled as he helps you solve this "problem" and you'll feel better because the problem is solved! Good luck
Yes he gets very tired! He comes home takes a shower, eats dinner ends up falling asleep on the couch watching soccer then we go to bed. lol He hangs drywall mostly, but can pretty much do anything involving remodeling a house. He is currently looking into going to school to become an archtech. Then he can make my dream house. haha.

I hope you dont mind me asking this, but is he also too tired to have sex? I have been having this problem lately. I know it isnt his fault, but Im wondering if its normal. He only gives it up about once a week right now.
