They divorced/seperated for the fifth and final time 6 years ago.
No they never were together. Oh he asked her to marry him, but she said she did not love him that way and wouldn't marry him when she first told him she was pregnant. I have always been proud of her for that decision. Being a single mother is never easy and it took real courage to turn down those proposals in hopes of being available for true love one day.
My grandmother (my fathers side) was married to my grandfather (R.I.P.) for 30+ yrs. He unfortunately passed away almost 20yrs ago.... My grandmother never remarried, never dated after he passed away. She still wears her rings and visits his grave everyday. Now that's dedication!
They've been married for 35 years through thick and thin. Mom said she came close to divorcing him when I was a kid, but they're stronger than ever now! DH's parents have been married for around the same amount of time, and they came close to divorce, too, but have worked through a lot. They are doing good now, too. Both have helped me to see that marriage isn't easy, but it's worth working through the struggles.
