send Mothers (or Fathers) day cards to you and your dh?
my parents send a card and a small monetary gift every year to each of us.
(and I send a small gift to each of them.)
my inlaws never have done any of the above. they have recieved gifts and cards from us however.
m.
this i can understand . this is why i believe they have not sent us anything on mothers or fathers day. their prob.
Quoting outgoingmomof2:
They don't even acknowledge we r parents, however heaven forbid we don't call them and bow to them.
Neither of our parents do. We don't get them or each other gifts either (although, we do get each other a card, and we each have our favorite dinner on our day).
Our reason, though, is that my kids birthdays are right around Mother's and Father's day. My son's birthday is May 11, and my daughter's is June 17, so they will always fall around those days, and we've chosen collectively to spend our money on the kids' birthdays instead.
No, all of us (me & DH, my parents, and his parents) believe that Mother's Day/Father's Day is for celebrating your own mom or dad. Therefore, I get gifts cards for my parents and he gets gifts/cards for his - but they don't get gifts or cards for either of us. We're fine with it. They do send us gifts/cards for birthdays & our anniversary, and we do the same for them.
My parents always give hubby something card & present. His parents are divorced and remarried..his mother has never gotten me anything but his stepmother/father who we are somewhat close to send me bday cards and I think they've sent me Mother's Day cards at least a couple times.
