So I have posted numerous times about my issues with my relationship with my husband and I really think I need to read some books. I have looked into the book the 5 love languages, but I am wondering what other books are out there. The library should have these types of books right? I would rather not buy books because well I don't want to buy something and only use (well read) it once.
I second the power of the praying wife, and the proper care and feeding of husbands. Those books saved my marriage. Now, I must say, that I spent a good year boycotting The proper care and feeding of husbands--before I ever read it. I joined a group on here based off the book and thought those women were nuts!! But once you open your mind and heart...it all makes so much sense! If you want to see changes in your husband and marriage-- it must start with you!! So really do read that book, and read it with an open mind and open heart! Book to stay away from- Created to be his help meet by debbi pearl. I am almost positive she wrote that book with her husband holding a gun to her head. That book is straight up crazy!!!! If you want, read it for shits and giggles- I did!!

I'll keep them in mind thank you.. I am not religious though, is the power of the praying wife have a lot to do with religion?
Yes, it does. However, there are still some good things that do not have to do with religion that I learned from it. Example: There is a whole chapter on his reputation. I learned, and I was BAD about this, not to tear him down to others. If I need to vent, I do it with a neutral party- pastor's wife, HIS mother, etc; and not someone who would hang onto what I said such as MY mother. And when I do complain about him, I watch what I say, and how I say it. Moral of the story, his reputation is important, and even when I am so angry I could spit fire, I keep that in mind and do not say anything I do not mean, nor do I exagerrate...anymore lol So...it does have some good advice, but it is religious.
The Ethical Slut...It's an amazing read. It is geared toward unconventional relationships but has great advice for all types of relationships.
