Anniversay vs family vacation

In September DH and I will be married 3 years. I was wanting us to go away for a few days, I asked DH about it today and he said it doesn't matter and then he mentioned he would like to take a family vacation before school starts back for the boys. I said ok where to, he said Disney world. Is it bad that I said ok we can do that and for our anniversary we can just stay home, go out to a nice restaurant and spend the weekend together.

You sound disappointed. I think it sounds nice that your dh wants to do a family vacation. We typically do couple trips for special anniversaries (5, 10, 15yrs). Or maybe take a separate trip later in the year. Do something a bit smaller like going to a b&b or cabin for a weekend. I hope you have fun with whatever you decide!

Oh no, I'm disappointed at all. I loved Disney as a child and grateful we can afford to take our boys. A co worker just said that it was stupid for me to agree to a family vacation instead of an anniversary trip. I personally thought it would be selfish for DH and I to take a trip and the kids not be able to do anything fun this summer.

It's anniversary #3.  You have some big ones coming to do something extra special.   A nice date night is great for a 3rd anniversary.

I would personally go with the family vacation to Disney.  Your kids will remember that for the rest of their lives!!  And there's nothing saying you guys get away for the weekend and leave the kiddos with grandparents/aunts & uncles for your anniversary!

its your anniversary and you have the right ot do what the two of you want to not what everyone thinks you should do - being together is the important thing
