I know several people that don't wear rings at all and some people that have traded their original bands in for something nicer.
DH lost his awhile back and we sold mine when times were really tough. I'm not very sentimental so it wasn't a big deal. We went through a really rough time in our marriage and plan to renew our vows at some point, and we will get new rings then. Until then, we're ringless and we're okay with that :)
So how about you? Original bands? No bands? Upgraded bands?

we are still wearing our original bands that we bought over 14 years ago. we have discussed getting our ring fingers tattooed tho with a band. my sis in law and brother in law got the infinity sign tattooed on their ring fingers. ![]()

I may be wrong but it sounds like they are just coated and the real metal has nickel or something in it. I am allergic to nickel and what you described is exactly what I get if i wear jewelry with nickel in it.

I AM getting really concerned about my beautiful deeply sentimental wedding and engagment ring set I wear daily bc I never had any issues with them until this year, Its like I keep breaking out in a bad rash from it over and over again just as of this year like I have developed an allergy to it. (Its platinum or at the ver least platinum coated) the rashes get bad enough I have to take the rings off to heal for a few weeks, the skin bubbles and peels and turns red and raw and scaly and ithches and hurts. I put hydrocortisone on it and then it heals in a few wks. The rash is coming back faster and faster now sometimes in only one dday of wearing it. I tried coating it in clear nail polish to protect me from the metal but that didnt help either.
I am thinking of taking them to a fine jewelry store and ask their advice to see if anything can be done like a coating of protection or a ring guard or something like that maybe? I LOVE wearing my rings and they are meaningful to me so it bothers me on the days I cant wear them from the rashes I am starting to get.
It is possible I just hope we can correct the issue and soon

I still wear my original and he lost his which pissed me off and still does. We want to upgrade when we've been married for 10 years.
