2nd Anniversary Party?

My sister is suggesting that for our anniversary we have a anniversary party. She's saying this because we had a private wedding and no reception and for our 1st anniversary we also didn't do anything big. So she's saying we should do a party and give our entire family plus friends a chance to celebrate.

I have no issue with anniversary parties but I thought that its something you do at 5, 10, 15 years etc, not 2.

What do you all think?

I would think it was strange to celebrate a 2nd anniversary with a party.  Anniversary parties are for big anniversaries like 25th, 50th, etc.
