What's the difference between cheating (on a SO/DH/etc) and having an affair?
I know this post has probably been done before but I'm curious what people think. Also a girl I went to high school with made a post saying her DH cheated.

For me I feel like cheating is more geared towards when you're not married vs. When you're married and one spouse cheats its called having an affair.

What do you ladies think?

to me Cheating is sex only with the other partner not aware/consenting.

to me an Affair is an emotional and sexual relationship, again with the other partner unaware or non consenting.

i think the same way. it's called cheating when you're not married. It's called having an affair when you are already married.

Both are infidelity, regardless of marital status. And whatever one chooses to call it, it's a physical/emotional relationship with someone else.
