What's ash wednesday?
The first day of Lent which is a period of reflection and penitence in many Christian churches in the weeks leading up to Easter. Traditionally, luxuries such as chocolate are given up for the entire period.

I guess that I'm lucky because I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. I participate in Lent, however, we don't give up superficial things like chocolate and sweets. We work on making ourselves better people through reflection, hard work, and spiritual growth.

I'm sad that Valentines Day doesn't mean that much for me anymore. I'm more excited about the class parties and what my son gets me (and what I get him)
Lent - I have always given up superficial things. I think I want to go to Steel's church. I like the idea of bettering myself.
