Game night & pizza with cards, dominos, or board games. You could invite other couples over and make it a group date. If you did this, you could alternate between each others homes, too so that you're getting out of the house.

Candelight dinner. Spaghetti and garlic bread are cheap to make.

I'm not sure the extent of his back pain, but maybe you two could do some basic massage therapy combined with aroma therapy for each other with calming music playing in the background. There's a few good books if you're not sure how. Or you could save up a little here and there and go out for a couples massage.

Going through the same with mine. I just showed him the topic and said I feel this way. I got backhanded albeit playfully and he said I'm just high maintenance. Nope, I dont go shopping, Im stuck at home all day w/ 4 kids. You're not alone. :Y

You could do what we do and play co-op/multiplayer together. We have two consoles and play with mics/texting on just little arcade games. You could play on split screen, but that's usually irritating with how small the screen gets.

My DH has 3 herniated disks I know what you mean. All he wants to do is play Xbox live he does that for 2-3 hours straight I don't complain because I don't want to seem like I don't care that he has back pain. We have a 7 month old and I'm a SAHM so on his days off I would like to get out of the house for a while but we end up staying home and he plays Xbox ;( he refuses surgery because he's had coworkers tell him they are worse after the surgery I'm sorry I'm not helping you I'm sord off in the same boat;( BUMP

lately, it's just been sitting on the couch or eating together...that's it! He has major back issues right now that prevent him from doing much of anything without pain, so we don't go anywhere anymore.  We are still waiting for his appointment for the pain specialist to see if he needs surgery or not.  I'm basically bored of just sitting there...ALL the time! We can't work out together due to his back. Our walks are really short...due to his back.  Etc.  I need to be moving and I don't mind having fun without him, but I also want him to be there on occasion when the fun starts, ya know?  I've never tried the reading to each other thing. That could be fun.
