Just sharing my excitement!  :O) My awesome husband bought me a new Mathews Mission bow... I can't wait until he gets home from work this weekend so I can shoot it!

Does anyone else here shoot a bow?

I would love to but can't. The way my elbows are the string hits my arm every time. Even with padding that's a lot of pressure snapping you over and over! I'll never forget the first time. Nobody realized it before I let go and I had bloody welts on the inside oh my arm. It hurt soooo bad!!

Hmm your draw length might be too long for you then... that's the only time I've ever heard of that happening!!  I don't think I'd shoot either if I got welt from it though :(

It's actually because I have what I call "backwards elbows". Lol. When my arm is straight out and locked like it needs to be to shoot a bow my elbows (or the inside part) go inward right into the path of the string. The only way they don't do it is if they aren't completely straight. Then it's really hard to shoot accurately because I have to work the muscle so hard to keep everything in the right position.

If I put my palm flat on a table and straighten my arm it looks like an ostrich leg that's backwards (hence the backwards elbows). Maybe I should call them ostrich elbows. Lol. It's kind of one of those stupid human things....I also have a shoulder that goes visibly out of joint too. That freaks people out!
