I'm sure everyone has done the dinner and a movie deal, but lets think outside the box.  REPLY some ideas of unique date ideas.  & Have you and your hubby done something different?  Post up a picture to get us motivated to try something new.

Ideas posted up at a Glance:

  1. Couple's Massage
  2. Go to the Theater/Watch a Play
  3. Check out an Auto Show
  4. Casino Fun
  5. Comedy Club
  6. Lunch on the Beach
  7. Gaming
  8. Mini Golf
  9. Progressive Dinner (Where you have appetizers at one place, entrees at another, and dessert at yet another different eatery)

Here's something hubby & I did in Feb.  Checked out a Planetarium show & Star gaze where they mapped out some constellations and zoomed through stars and planets on a domed theater.  Showed us current photos from the space station of astronaughts working in space and looking down at the planet.  Almost felt like a ride at some points.  After, local astronomers posted up their own high powered telescopes out in the public and let us see some fascinating objects in the sky.   One of the telescopes even had a laser so you could see with your naked eye the direction of where you were looking at.

Here's an example of Orion's Nebulla that we could see through one of the telescopes

Well our dates outside of the house vary. I hate asking people to watch our kids. Mostly it's my mother or his mother. Our quality time is usually getting in sex because we don't see each other during the week lol... We'll just relax with each other after the kids are in bed mostly. But this weekend we are going to the Auto Show here, getting couples massages, and going out to dinner. I can't wait!!

We use to go out once a month. But with us just buying a house and me not having a job, will be much much less.

Oooh a couple massage sounds great.  Tried the hot stone massage for the first time with hubs, but it's been over a year.  Have fun at the auto show!  We had gone to an international auto show held in our city and Hubby's favorite part is getting to test drive the vehicles. Mine was trying all the neat things out they had on display.  One that was appealing was a pool table made out of the bottom half of a car.

sept -may its only on special occassions, with an occasional date night squeezed in on just a regular day.

june - aug we do date nights 2-3 times a week.

we don't really do anything unusual. It's usually just dinner and the comedy club, or dinner and a play, or dinner and shopping, or dinner and the casino. Which is what I like to do. A date night usually runs us about 400.00. Unless we go to the casino then it's more like 800.00.

we save the unusual stuff for our summer vaca (without the kids).

My daughter goes to her dads every weekend except for the 2nd weekend of the month so me an my fiancé have the weekend together. Sometimes we will have a beach date, we get clam chowder bread bowls, walk on the beach and then sit on the rock we were on when he proposed to me and watch the sun set.

Comedy Clubs are fun.  The first one we ever went to my cheeks had hurt so much from laughing.  Now a play sounds good, I have yet to do that myself & we have such great theaters around here.  Definitely puting that on our to do list.

A beach date sounds nice and relaxing especially with the weather warming up nicely.  Hubbys and our favorite clam chowder bread bowls are at Boudins.  We go almost once a month for their bowls & cranberry turkey sandwhiches.  Oh and I love their butternut squash soup once in a while too.

My daughter enjoying some bread bowl heaven too

Here goes an interesting article on the topic

http://www.redbookmag.com/love-sex/advice/100-date-ideas#slide-1

Some I found intersting out of it:

brewery tour/whiskey tasting
Brew your own beer at home with a kit
Take a lesson together dance/instrument/sport
Head to a local nursery
sign up for a unique race like a mud run/color run.  Found this intersting, 'cause just signed up for a run with hubby recently
Play a childhood game
Volunteer together (article suggested sign up opportunities to  regularly walk/socialize with furry friends of animal shelters)

Once they are in bed on the weekends. Since that is when hubby does not work. We spend time together. Even during the week during nap time. We have at least and hour to two alone. So we make the most of it when we can.
