a single parent.

Honestly, if something happened to you, do you think your DH/SO could handle the demands of single parenthood?

I believe my DH could handle it.  It would take him some time to adjust, and he would probably need help from family (but then, if something happened to him I would need some help too), but he could handle it.

I wouldn't have had children with him if I didn't think he could handle the full responsibility of raising a family should something happen to me.

He's perfectly capable of handling her without me, I have no doubt about that. Plus he has a lot of people around for support. I agree with you though, I never would have married him if I didn't think he could do it without me

He is a single parent, and he's awesome. We don't live together. Been together three yrs. He has full custody of his dd. Her Mom will probably never see her again (her choice).

Well he has no biological kids and really doesn't want any.

I think he would be shocked at how much work goes into making a house run efficiently... And would more than likely need help here and there in the beginning... But he would be just fine.
