Learned a few basics from my mom, then most of it was at college. Actually in my college classes. My major was hotel/restaurant management and I had a few cooking classes.

A little bit from my granny. Then my wonderful husband put up with my cooking until I got better. Lol. I was cooking him chicken Alfredo in the barracks. I think that's how I got his attention. Little did he know it was one of 3 things I knew how to cook. Since then it's been recipes, phone calls home, watching friends, an expirements.

I was 19 with a baby and husband....I had to just teach myself!
Years later, the Food Network taught me how to bring it to the next level!

I know some basics, can follow directions on a box. Beyond that I am useless in the kitchen. That's why I'm with a chef and he keeps me fat and happy.

Mom, and I'm good at following directions, which is all you need for a while. I followed recipes until I understood more, then experimented on my own.
