Did this really happen to me?

As of today I am once again a free woman. I was served today by my soon to be exhusband, and on top of that he cleared out our bank account, took all the money I have saved for our son's birthday and Christmas. I have a part time job but it's not enough to survive off of, and he said if I want child support I'll have to fight him for it. Looks like this divorce will end ugly. I had the pleasure of canceling our son's birthday party on 2 weeks because now I don't have the money to pay for.

WOW..sorry girl. Better get to work asap on the spousal and child support and make sure you document how he left his kids with NO money to survive on.

So, did this just pop up out of the blue? Were you blindsided?

We have had problems but we were seeing a marriage counselor and things seemed to be going good between us.

I would file a counter and go after him for spousal and child support. I would also get a print out that shows what was in the account, when it was taken out, and how much was taken out. So you have it for proof.
I am so sorry you are dealing with this.

Well, I'll share a glass of wine with you and wish you well.

Yes, I'm drinking wine at 4pm on a Sunday. Don't judge, lol.

what state are you in?

He won't get away with not paying support, and he'll likely have to pay back half of what he took from the accounts.

horrible way to get the news. Hold your head up and good luck. It will get better

I just finished the quarter of the bottle of white I had left, I'm about to crack open the red.

Seriously OP, wine may not be the answer to life's problems, but it sure makes them easier to deal with. Cheers!

Wow, what a jerk. I am so sorry momma. I agree with the others. First, document everything and get to work on filing for child support. After you have that all set up, crack open a bottle of wine and just try to get some rest.

Hugs..My first marriage ended similarly to how you have described. I did not have kids with my first husband. He cleared out the bank accounts. Thankfully, I had family around. I moved back home at 32 for 14 months to get my finances back in order. I will keep you in my prayers.
