The good with the bad

This week is a huge week for our town. It's, well if I describe it ya'll would know where I live so I'm not going to. :P It's just big with lots of events and activities. I took off 2 days to take my kids to various events. My DH took off a day and a half. Well really just 1 day because they always close down the city for 1/2 a day for this. Anyway, We did a lot with the kids. The kids had a real blast. Lots of rides and things to see. Having DH around was very nice. I have pics of him on the little kid rides with DS and holding DD during events. The kids had a great time and I couldn't have done so much if I'd been alone. Plus DS gets scared easily and always wants DH when he does. So it was priceless. Really awesome memories.

On the other hand that man drives me nuts. lol I got a bloody nose on the tilt-a-whirl. Not related to the ride, I just get them. Anyway I was a horror show of blood. Couldn't get it to stop. People were crowding around, probably hoping I was dying so they had something to tell their friends. :P DH was not that helpful. I found a bench and laid down on it with all the napkins and such people had supplied. DH was talking about how he was thirsty and needed to get water. Then DS was whining that he wanted to go on this ride. Over and over he'd ask. I finally asked them both to shut up so I could die in peace. I had to get quite firm before DH would assist in giving me a minute to stop bleeding like a stuck pig. Ugh. Then of course he was convinced he was getting heat stroke. I finally got tired of him and sent him to sit in the tent with water while I continued riding with the kids. Men! Then I swear he has to find something to bitch about no matter what. I get really tired of it. I got really really tired of it and asked him when he turned into such a drama queen. I swear! So yeah, great but that man is impossible!

I would have dumped the damn water on his head and made sure to bleed on him. I wouldn't have used napkins... I would have used his shirt.  He sounds like an extra large child.

My DS had blood all over him from being stuck in the tilt a whirl with me. 2 bloody people is quite enough!

1 mom liked this

I get them fairly often. Hubby jokes that I'm dying from something. Who knows. But since I get them often they don't really stop me.

Sorry about your bloody nose! I can really empathise with you on that .. I only get them once a great while now thank goodness but the whole time I was a kid and teenager I got them frequently and extremely unbelievably bad, some of them even sprayed! They would gush really hard and fast and pour down  my throat at same time ... as a matter of fact I remember in 2nd grade we had 1 teacher and 2 aides and countless times I would start bleeding so hard all 3 of them would have to stop teaching to help me and clean up all the blood lol.. and when I was about 13 I was at a skating rink and I saw my 2nd grade teacher and I went to say hi and tell her she was my  teacher when I was 7 and she when I told her my name she gasped and said "Aren't you the little girl that had long platinum blonde hair and use to get horrific bloody noses all the time?" I laughed and said "Yup that's me."

I got my nose cauterized by dr numerous times and that would help for at least awhile.. (if you haven't done that I would at least try it.. it's not a permanent fix but can help for awhile and only takes a minute in the drs office.)  It's not bad.

Also seen a specialist and he said to take nondrowsy allergy pills such as loratadine because seasonal airborne allergies can make it bleed badly more often

and he also said to A. use a humidifier in your home at least in your bedroom at night to help prevent them  although my mom did that for me.. I don't do it now bc I cant STAND humidity haha.. but one I do use that helps some is he said to B. put some vaseline (petroleum jelly) Or you could probably use coconut oil instead if you wanted to be more natural or maybe even olive oil? but anyway he said to put it on a \qtip each morning and each night and coat the inside of your nostrils with it.. it helps it not bleed.

I hope that helps..

Also they told me laying down doesn't necessariy help it just makes it go down your throat worse.. they taught me to SQUEEZE my nose firmly and hold it for about 15-20 minutes or however long it takes so that it forms a blood clot to help it stop (honestly often it was bleeding so heavily I HAD to keep changing the tissues frequentlly but still did the firm squeezing thing in between.

Anyway good luck from a fellow nose bleeder. HUGS
