Getting gum out of fabric?

Does anyone know a good method to get gum out of fabric? I am washing a thin comforter and discovered it has gum stuck on part of it -.- suggestions?

This is what I was going to suggest as well.  You need something to break down the components of the gum.  Lighter fluid won't stain or smell once you wash it either.

Okay, havent been able to try any of the suggestions yet, lol (i am a procrastinator, lol) but i think i'm gonna try the lighter fluid. :)
