Do you have a seperate budget line specifically for stockpiling?  How much do you figure you spend on average per week or month on stockpiling?

I don't have a separate budget. If I have extra money and see a good deal I'll use it or I just work it into my regular grocery budget.

I don't have a separate budget, but I usually allow around $25 each shopping trip for any deals I find.

I don't have an extra budget, but I have a built in pad in my grocery account, for which I opened a separate checking account.  I used that money when I need to stock up on something and it goes above my regular grocery budget.

I'm thinking of starting one and using it to stock up on clothes for the kids and stuff as well as groceries.

I do not have a built in budget but I plan around the sales for different months.

For instance August is my everything school supply stock up month - pens, notebooks etc I buy enough things to last me until next August.

Also there is a list I will have to find it again I may have seen it in this group actually but every month at the stores has a different theme and the sales are rotated around the themes. For instance I think it is February is national can month so all the canned items usally hit rock bottom prices. May and July are the best months for buying condiments I buy enough ketchup, barbecue sauce etc to last me until the next May or July. That is truly in my opinion the best way to save and stockpile.

I'd be very interested in that list. I'll look for it when I'm off mobile.

no seperate budget for all of that. stock-pileing is when we find a really good deal we get as many as we can make room for at home or as many as we can afford at the time. Heck I'm STILL using choc. chips, sugar, and flour that I got on sale around christmas.

We recently ran out of the stockpile of canned goods that we got around thanksgiving last year. Although  we do eat A LOT of canned green beans and corn (2 or 3 cans everytime we make them...at LEAST 4x a week...equals 12cans or so a week...and thanksgiving was like 8 months ago...so we had gotten at least 80cans then lol). We didnt run out of them per-say but we had to start buying them again because the stock of them was almost empty. I wont let it get below 4 cans of each. But hey 4 cans for $1 would come out to what $20 I spent then to get those 80 cans...vs...Just about $80 or more for those 80 cans if we were to get them full price. I'm sure that $60 I saved has went to good use :)

Who's crazy now??? mwhahaha. Sorry some of my friends tease me when they see the pantry or cupboards after a stocking up on sale grocery trip. But they sure are happy when they're struggling to make ends meet or only have $20 for food for the week and ask to come grocery shopping at our house first!
