So I was reading a post and it got me thinking what are some things you do that may seem extreme to others in order to be frugal?

Mine are:

Rinse and reuse sandwhich bags, flatten out aluminum foil and re use it, in winter time everyone goes to bed in long pants and a sweat shirt so I can keep the heating bill down. There are plenty of other things just cant think of all of them at the moment.

I grow our vegetables

I can using a pressure canner or water bath canner

 make our own cleaning supplies

our heat gets  turned down to 60degrees at night in winter, we only keep it at 65-67degrees during the day...you can always add more clothes

We have thermal curtains that keep the heat and cold out.

I turn off the a.c. in the morning and keep it off most the day.  i keep the windows and curtains closed and it stays nice and cool in here.

I make our bread.  I usually make two loaves on Monday and that gets us thru most of the week. I sometimes have to make more

thats all i can think of now...im sure there is more

I just use a basic white or wheat bread recipe.  I do it from scratch.  I dont have a bread machine so I knead it and let it raise...etc.

Water bath canning is just boiling the jars for the allotted amount of time.  Its basically a large enamel kettle.
I use it for tomatoes and pickles.

I made homemade spaghetti sauce today.  It was the first time I used this certain recipe and it called for a pressure canner.  Usually you can can tomatoes without one because they are acidic but this had lots of veggies in it.  I am assuming that was the reason for the pressure canner.
