Name brands

All of us in this group are "frugal". Is there a certain brand you buy no matter what the cost?

Do you have a favorite brand of soda, cereal, yogurt, or something else that you are not frugal when it comes to buying.

I refuse to buy generic pet food.  But, then again, I don't get it at the grocery store, either.

I won't use generic dishsoap, bathsoap, shampoo or deodorant.

Crest toothpaste

4C Iced Tea Mix (used to use a store brand, but the closest store is more than an hour away)

Yoplait yogurt (their "lite" flavors are unbeatable)

Ragu pasta sauce (unless I feel like making my own)

Country Crock (we tried ICBINB but Jim complained)

Pepsi (or Walmart Cola with a LOT of ice cubes)

Everything else is generic.

Always buy Purina dog food, and DH insists on Dukes mayonaise,  everything else I am willing to buy generic.

Quoting Feral.Woman:

Hmm, not much, Purina dog food, Always pads, Crystal Light (store brands don't seem to have as much flavor). Our cat has to have Purina One Urinary Health food. Everything else, we are pretty flexible on.

Blessings

Kat

Just wanted to say that purina dog food is no better than Walmart brand or even dollar store brand. Same ingredients. If your dogs like it and u are happy with the ingredients go for it! (you should research what chicken meal or meat meal or (shudder) "by products" means when it pertains to dog foods. These foods often contain anything from groin up chicken feet and beaks and bones to actual ground up dog cat and horse meat, depending on the manufacturer. I know this because I worked for several major pet food companies before.
Also I am pretty happy with always brand pads but web I have to resort to equate, they are about 99% equal. The only complaint I have is two time in the last few years I have over flowed them, not o say I couldn't do that to an always pad. But as long as you don't oversleep by a few hours, you I ow equates got ur back.
