Do you go all out for Halloween? How do you keep on budget for costumes, candy and crafts?
I go to the thrift stores.
I shop thrift stores and I buy on clearance from the year before never go all out for any of it.
Yes--I decorate the outside, purchase several pumpkins because I really enjoy carving.
I take pictures at the pumpkin patch but buy the pumpkins at my local grocery store which sells them cheaper, I make the costumes, I purchase the candy when it is on sale and also use coupons, for the crafts I buy in bulk and use coupons.
We have Halloween decoration that we have accumulated over the years. Sometimes I'll spring for a fresh set of window clings, but those are only $1. My kids love to play dress up still, so we have lots of costumes around here that they can choose from. Those are usually purchased at thrift stores throughout the year. I try not to spend too much on Halloween because my son's birthday is also at the very end of October.
