I had budgeted $450/month for all groceries (food, paper products, personal care, pet supplies, pet food, etc.) and I've been keeping track of all the receipts....

$230.07 for the first 19 days of January!   I'll buy groceries ONE MORE TIME this month, on the 26th, and I doubt there is any way I'll be anywhere near my budgeted amount.  I'm psyched about this!

...just had to share.

For us for January I think I spent 200$ so far.  I don't think I will need anything else food wise. Unless the milk runs out.  Me to trying to stay on a budget.  Now there is only 2 of us at home.  It should be a little easier.  Your budget amount sounds liveable.

My budget is for 5 adult appetites and granddaughter snacks, 3 dogs, and 3 house cats. I may be able cut down on the budgeted amount and use that elsewhere, depending on how this month goes.

I can't WAIT to be down to 2 of us!

Our son can eat like Jethro on the Hillbillies.  But he moved out in July.  Dh don't eat the big meals anymore he used to. As a bunch of years back. He had surgery to fix severe acid reflux.  It makes it where he can't eat so much in a sitting.   Now our son buys his own food.  He is realizing how much it costs to eat a month.
