Fresh broccoli soon! I have noticed they have been leaving the stems 4 inches long at least to weigh more and the heads are tiny. I love fresh veggies but I am not paying that much per pound for a handful of edible veggie

When I buy broccoli at Aldi's, they already have it banded together and priced by the bunch instead of the weight. I think you get a better deal that way...

If I could, I would cut off the bottom or ask the produce manager to cut it off.

Am I missing something?  Is there a reason one shouldn't eat the stem?

We eat them. Just peel the tougher skin and cut up. I use them in casserols and soups. No problem

There is a shortage... so the supply is sub-par.

OK. I was just wondering because we eat them, too.

I don't eat the stem. They are bitter an tough. 4 inches of stem isn't appealing to me lol
