Awesome! I think we are getting chicks for Easter. DH and I have been talking about it for a while and he is going to build a coop! I'm worried about winter time though, it gets very cold here!

just make sure you get cold hard breeds and put vaseline on their combs and wattles to prevent frostbite.

Those are great pics. What kind of camera do you have? I love baby chicks :)

I have a cannon rebel t3 and shot the pics with a 18 - 55 mm lens

good news! the feed store i got the chicks from has a wk guarantee on them so i got a replacement, and identical replacement for scratch.   My 3 yr old is very relieved because scratcher was one of hers.

Oh lucky! I have an older rebel, I'd love a t3! I could tell they were dslr pics by their quality. So what do you do with the chicks when they get older?

they'll be integrated with my other 7 hens and we mainly got them for eggs, pest control, composters (they eat everything!) and fertilizer for our gardens.    Most of the ones we have are dual breed birds, so at some point they may end up being dinner.

Oh awesome! I had chickens when I was younger. Fresh eggs are the best.
