I have meantioned from time to time about how I want to get started on a food stockpile.  I am not a crazy prepper but my goal is have 6 months of food on hand.  baby steps but this is what I got today

25 lb jasmine rice

20 lbs hamburger

10 lbs pork loin

10 lbs chicken

5 lbs shrimp

3 lbs each of sausuage, pepperoni and bacon

6 lbs of pasta

enough canned tomatoes etc to make spaghetti sauce etc.  probably will be enough to last 4 months.

10 lbs of frozen stir fry veggies.  we eat stir fry probably 2-3 times a week right now

I already had flour etc at home.

this is just for short term use.  I haven't started my long term storage yet

Its yummy. It has kind of nutty flavor but its good. It cooks like long grain rice.

Around how much did you spend? We want to do something similar, but I'm unsure of how much money to put toward it. I can't decide if I want to do a huge 1 stop stock up or put it aside to get a bigger bang for my buck with sales.
